ABOUT ISLA NOIR

Isla Noir was born from the sea. She embodies a sirene in both voice and performance.

Her music is moody and captivating, as are her melodies and production. Having released her debut EP "Hawkmen" in 2012 and full length album "Sleepless Universe" ten years apart in 2022, her music has reached a global audience. Alongside her remix EP "Still Awake" she has also released singles throughout the span of her career. Isla has had listeners from around the world, with notable audiences in Germany, U.K, Indonesia, U.S.A, Canada and Sweden.

Her original songs have appeared in TV commercials for Australian fashion label Decjuba, Volvo Sweden, Bengar films and on TV, Spike Lee's hit Netflix series "She's Gotta Have It" as well as short films Gemini and multiple award winning film Screaming At Stars.

Isla's performances have taken her around the world, playing at some of the most distinguished venues and events such as Crown Casino Showroom, VAFF opening Gala, Atheneum Theatre, Chapel of Chapel, FTV Lounge in Singapore, Lonsdale Quay Summer Series, Melbourne Fashion Week, Cityfest, A royal wedding and many more.

Classically trained in piano since the age of six, and self taught in guitar and drums; Isla writes and composes her own music and works solo or alongside other musicians to fully produce all of the tracks. Her music style is a self confessed “cinematic dark pop”, composing of soulful acoustic ballads and a hybrid of electronic/pop production.

Drawing from her experiences/observations both at home and overseas, her songs form a beautiful balance of escapism, and true stories. Her musical influences include Banks, Alt-J, James Young, London Grammar, Sia and Phantogram.

Her shows consist of warm acoustics, crystal clear vocals and a hint of electronic bass and beats to create an alluring atmosphere.
